Edel Langan, PhD
Direct, strategic and deep.
Dr Edel Langan is a psychologist with a PhD in Psychology (Performance Psychology), who has worked as an embedded performance psychologist within multiple Australian Olympic sporting programs. Her work spans elite sport and high-performance leadership—athletes, teams, founders, CEOs and executives.
I work with executives, founders and athletes who perform under pressure and are ready to stop paying for performance with their nervous system.
I’m drawn to high performers because I see what most people don’t: how capable people can look calm on the outside while carrying a constant internal hum of responsibility, self-monitoring and pressure.
It can show up as overwhelm, reactivity, overthinking, imposter syndrome, or that relentless feeling of: ‘It’s all on me.’ Not because you’re fragile, but because you’re operating at a level where the stakes are real.
How the work feels
My approach
My style is direct, strategic and deep. High performers don’t need fluff. They need traction.
That means we don’t just talk about what you’re doing—we change what’s driving you when you do it: perfectionism, over-control, threat sensitivity, ‘not enough’, and the patterns that make success feel heavy.

Frequently asked questions
Still have questions? Reach out anytime, or start with a discovery call.
There are two ways I work with clients. Performance Coaching is for founders, CEOs, executives and high-performing women working on pressure patterns, leadership presence and the source-code stuff underneath performance. Personal Psychology is for high performers needing psychological support with anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, imposter syndrome, trauma and EMDR for complex presentations. Medicare rebates are available with a GP referral. If you’re not sure which pathway fits, a discovery call is the right first step.
Choose Personal Psychology if you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, burnout, trauma or other clinical presentations; want to access Medicare rebates; or your GP has recommended a psychologist. Choose Performance Coaching if you’re performing well but want to work on pressure patterns, leadership, decision-making and performance under pressure. Still unsure? A free 15-minute discovery call is designed to help us decide together.
The first step is a free 15-minute discovery call. We talk through what you’re working on, which pathway fits and what working together would involve. An initial consultation is 60 minutes and includes a thorough history, preliminary formulation and agreed goals. Ongoing sessions are typically 50–60 minutes and scheduled weekly, fortnightly or monthly, with clear goals and honest progress assessment.
I work with a limited number of clients at any time. If there’s a waitlist, I’ll be upfront and provide a realistic timeframe. Online sessions are available worldwide via secure video conference, with limited in-person availability in North Sydney.
Personal Psychology follows the AHPRA pricing guidelines that govern psychologists Australia-wide. Performance Coaching offers are outlined on the Performance Coaching page, including the Performance Blueprint and the 16-week Carrying Capacity engagement.
